The first entry... Going in circles.

We are having a great time - Valerie and I have proven to be exceptional travel partners.

We are on day four of our trip, and have yet to retrieve our bike. We expect to get it tomorrow. The customs office we must patronize is only open Monday - Friday, 9-2. We arrived in the port city on Friday, 3pm, and after searching all over for the customs office, we found it to be closed. We spent the weekend exploring San Antonio, Cartegena and Valparaiso. It must have been some sort of holiday weekend here, as the beach towns were buried in Chilean holidaymakers. We have yet to see a gringo.

Today we woke up bright and early and raced to the customs office. We discovered we were missing the vital "Bill of Lading" which is evidentaly some sort of reciept. The Idiots at EMO-TRANS San Francisco never gave it to me (and I didn't know I even needed it). Val and I bussed it back to Santiago, and got a duplicate made at the EMO-TRANS office here. Hopefully with the correct documents, we can get our motorcycle. I will post pictures soon.
