Megan, Erik and I worked well into the night packaging the motorcycle. Megan was a big help. She carefully wrapped all of the parts we had to take off the bike. We finished around 7pm.
Erik and I hit the road early Friday. We were barely to Scotts Valley when our borrowed delivery truck stopped running. Thats right, the delivery truck quit on Highway 17. We pulled over to the side of the road. I was very upset. We were stuck on the road with under four hours to get an 800 pound crate to a warehouse in SF. After considerable fussing, we figured out the problem was a loose battery cable.
We were able to drive in the carpool lane most of the way while the other lanes were clogged, and made it to the warehouse with time to spare. The warehouse people succesfully unloaded the crate with no damage. I felt a little uneasy leaving the crate there. No one at the safepak warehouse could speak english very well. Erik had a hell of a time understanding the forklift driver, and just about went caveman on the guy when he told us we needed to cut holes into the crate for inspection.
We didn't cut up the crate, of course.
Now I have no choice. I have to go to Chile if I want my bike back.
City is writing my address in Chile. what pen-woman-ship.
